EP18. A Sunny Day, Filled with Love
Hello again,
It’s us – the âme copain team. 🌿
Last week, we took a day off from our usual routines – no photoshoots, no product brainstorming – to do something different. Something for the heart.
We went on a volunteer trip to Ky Quang 2 Social Welfare Facility (District 12) and Ky Quang 2 Buddhist Temple (Go Vap) – where many children with special needs and elderly people without families are being taken care of with warmth and kindness.
We packed our car with daily essentials – food, hygiene items, and humble little gifts. But more than that, we carried quiet wishes in our hearts:
May this small visit bring some comfort to their everyday lives.
There was a sense of both excitement and care as we loaded the van, making sure nothing was left behind.
And when we arrived, everyone chipped in cheerfully to unload, as if this was a rare and meaningful chance to connect – not through work, but through kindness.
“Giving” – and receiving
Every time we visit a place like this, our hearts feel a little softer.
Under the peaceful shade of the temple roof, we were met with clear eyes, shy but warm smiles, and a calmness that doesn’t come from material wealth – but from the beauty of human connection.
A small hand waved silently, then beamed with joy after receiving a bag of snacks.
A gentle nun shared how she’s raised each child as her own.
Moments like these – unscripted and unrepeatable – are what stay with us the longest.
And as always, the ones who end up receiving the most… are us.
We took back with us the tiniest of things – a smile, a hug, a quiet story – and yet, those were the things that made our hearts open a little wider, feel a little stiller, and become a little lighter.
Thank you – for letting us pause
This trip may have been short, but the reminder it left was lasting.
In a world of endless deadlines and to-do lists, sometimes the best things are not those that were carefully planned, but those that come straight from the heart.
We know our presence might have been small,
but we also know that every act of care can be a spark of light.
And in the constant rush of life, the chance to pause – to give – and to listen, is a precious one.
Perhaps we didn’t change anything big.
But if even one person felt more at ease, more loved – then that’s more than enough for us.
Kindness, when given, never fades

We hope this won’t be our last trip like this –
days where time isn’t spent to “work,” but to do what feels truly right.
Because sometimes, just being there for each other is the most beautiful thing we can offer in this life.
